a sparrow came by
the rain fell hard last night
speaking comfort

Thursday Random
- I learned how to make new cookies this week (new for me) called Silvanas. They are a smaller version of the Filipino cake Sans Rival. I might never be afraid of meringue again!
- I also figure I can use this new skill to try and make my own macarons. If I could do that, I know someone that would pay me good cash for them.
- I thought I hated egg white anything. I don’t eat meringue pies and I despise marshmallows.
- I know. Everyone likes marshmallows.
- And honey. Everyone loves honey.
- Except me.
My outing
It was not raining
as the man had said it would
nor was it sunning
as I had hoped
A frog hopped across my path
or was it a toad
that paused for ‘hello’
before it left me alone
I sat on a bench
near a bunch of flow’rs
still wrapt, with an enveloped
message I could not read
I nearly cried, for
the absent stranger–
was love lost, or had she
left them behind in haste
What a waste
that we moved away
only to leave behind
a decade
Our summer carpet
It was the dads
who wanted to be rid of the dandelions
we sat for hours
tying them stem to stem
into necklaces
worthy of Cleopatra
bracelets we imagined bangled
as we held hands and danced
and then she would spin
a whirling dervish in a pink headband
the clovers hiding their four-leafed numbers
for then, we were not intended to succeed
too quickly
the grass rich, and the weeds plentiful
but they looked like blooms
from Nebuchadnezzar’s hanging gardens
to us
here we are again
me with my heart in my hands
you, the white space
